Advertising and Brand Campaign Production

Advertising and campaign production for brands

LUX Production plans advertising photography, video, art direction, casting, and physical set production for brands—all under a single brief—at its Istanbul studio and across its service areas in Berlin and Europe. Working on three parallel tracks simultaneously, the team scales projects—from white-background product shoots to model-led lifestyle campaigns—based on the number of products and the media platform.

Burak Bulut manages lighting, optics, and shooting decisions; Meryem Aydın is responsible for art direction, set design, and product presentation. The mood board, shoot list, model usage rights, location, hair and makeup, delivery rates, and scope of post-production are finalized in writing prior to the shoot. Products are shipped to the studio from various cities in Turkey and from Europe. A quote is prepared based on the project scope, number of products, type of shoot, model/set requirements, and post-production details.

Short answer

What is brand campaign production?

Brand campaign production combines the brief, mood board, art direction, casting, physical set, photography, video, and post-production into a single production plan. LUX Production has been managing this process since 2005 at its Istanbul studio, as well as in Berlin and across Europe; the scope is tailored to the product’s media platform, target market, and delivery formats.

Step 01

Mood board and shot list

The concept, color scheme, set, model, framing, and delivery ratios are submitted for approval in writing prior to the shoot.

Step 02

Photo and Video Production

White-background, decorated still life, model-based lifestyle, and video series are produced within a common visual language.

Step 03

Channel-based delivery

The selected photos and videos are prepared separately for use on the web, in e-commerce, on social media, in advertising, and in print.

3 parallel production lines

How do three sets work on the same day?

If the project is suitable, three teams work on three parallel tracks at the Istanbul studio: video shoots with sets, photo shoots with sets, and product photography against a white background. This allows us to complete in one day what some productions would spread out over 2–3 days. Since all three lines use the same mood board and color scheme, the photo, video, and packshot files maintain a consistent visual style.

How does the scope of a campaign vary across different industries?

The scope varies depending on the product type: in cosmetics, model-based applications and videos; in home textiles, real-life settings and decor; in jewelry, macro details and model-based imagery; and in bicycles, outdoor settings and videos against a black background. The following six projects illustrate this difference.

Cosmetics

Ashley Joy

Promotional photos featuring models and a product application video were produced for cosmetics and hair care products.

Home textiles

Capyhome

Lifestyle campaign visuals and decor setups were created for towel products in a real-life home setting.

Jewelry

Big Sugar, Zehrai

E-commerce videos featuring models, lifestyle photos, and styled jewelry shoots were produced.

Bicycle

Licorne Bike

Product videos featuring a black background that highlight product details were produced using outdoor advertising photo shoots with models.

Fashion

Gabbiano Denim

An outdoor fashion ad shoot featuring models and catalog photos of models against a white background were incorporated into the collection plan.

Personal care

Durex Turkey

A photo shoot for advertising and promotional purposes was conducted for health and personal care products.

Production outputs

What types of content are produced from a single production?

Six main content groups are produced from a single campaign plan: product photos on a white background, styled still life, lifestyle shots with models, 16:9 horizontal promotional videos, 9:16 vertical videos, and print and web deliverables tailored to specific platforms. Which groups will be produced is determined during the briefing phase based on the number of products, media channels, models, sets, and the campaign schedule.

Still Life

Product photo with props

The product's shape, material, and packaging are shown using its actual surface, a physical object, and controlled flash lighting.

Lifestyle

Use Case

The product is photographed in a real or staged setting, taking into account its scale, intended use, and target audience.

Modelli

Advertising photoshoot featuring a model

The fit, proportions, and intended use of fashion, cosmetics, jewelry, and accessory products are demonstrated on a real model.

Video

Landscape promotional and advertising video

Horizontal videos in 16:9 aspect ratio or customized for the project are produced for websites, launches, ad networks, and presentations.

Vertical

Reels, TikTok, and Shorts

The framing, movement, text area, and the product’s visibility in the first second are planned during filming for the 9:16 aspect ratio.

Multi-platform

Print, web, and e-commerce files

Final content is prepared in 1:1, 4:5, and 16:9 aspect ratios, with the appropriate color profile, resolution, and compression settings.

Process Management

How does campaign production work?

Campaign production proceeds in six steps: brief, mood board and shot list, casting and set preparation, shoot day, selection and post-production, and media-specific delivery. The output of each step is subject to written approval; the shoot date is only scheduled once the shot list and set plan have been finalized.

Brief and distribution channels

The product or collection, target market, campaign objective, number of photos and videos, publication channels, and target date are clearly specified in writing.

Mood board and shot list

Lighting, color, framing, model, styling, set design, surfaces, and delivery schedules are submitted for approval via a mood board and shoot list.

Casting, Location, and Set

Model selection, usage rights, hair and makeup, styling, location, physical set, props, and the shoot day schedule are finalized.

Photo and Video Production

The approved plan is implemented. If the project is suitable, the white-background, decorated photo, and video sets operate in parallel on the same day.

Selection, retouching, and editing

Photo selection, product cleaning, color correction, advanced retouching, video editing, audio, subtitles, and color grading are completed.

Channel-based delivery

Approved final files are exported for use on the web, in e-commerce, on social media, in digital advertising, in catalogs, and for print.

How can three production lines be set up on the same day?

LUX Production sets up three parallel production lines at its Istanbul studio based on the product workflow. Line 1 produces white-background shots and cutouts; Line 2 produces photos with set decorations; and Line 3 produces videos with set decorations or models. Since the three teams work from a shared mood board and color palette, the files produced in a single day maintain a consistent visual style.

Line 1

White background and packshot

SKU order, product angles, pure white background, need for cutouts, shadows, and color accuracy are checked.

Line 2

Decorated photo

The physical set, background, props, color palette, and flash lighting are set up on set according to the product.

Line 3

Video with decorations or special effects

Continuous lighting, motorized sliders, turntables, macro or probe transitions, focus shifts, and stop-motion are planned as needed.

Set decisions

Which technical decisions made during a campaign shoot can influence the outcome?

Four decisions determine the outcome of a campaign shoot: lighting set up relative to the surface, the reference shot that captures the product’s true color, depth of field, and a set design that withstands movement. These decisions are made on the day of the shoot and cannot be corrected during the retouching phase. The following four items are the settings that make the biggest difference in a one-day campaign shoot.

Reflection

Shiny, glass, and metal surfaces

On these surfaces, the shape of the light source is directly visible on the product. A broad, soft light source, combined with negative fill and edge lighting provided by a black background, creates a sense of volume without distorting the packaging’s form.

Color

Reference frame and color accuracy

For each setup, a reference frame is captured using a gray card and a color target. During retouching, white balance and color are adjusted based on this frame; this ensures that the colors of fabrics, skin tones, and packaging remain consistent between the screen and the box.

Clarity

Macro detail and depth of field

For small packaging and jewelry, using only the aperture setting is not sufficient. When the product needs to be in focus from front to back, focus stacking is used; the framing and product angle are set according to this method.

Movement

Ready-to-use set design for video

A static set built solely for photography collapses from behind when the camera moves. Continuous lighting, a motorized slider, a turntable, and focus shifting are planned from the outset; the same set accommodates both high-resolution stills and video in aspect ratios ranging from 9:16 to 16:9.

Actual physical production

Are the stylized campaign images actually shot on set?

Yes. At LUX Production, products, props, surfaces, sets, and lighting are physically prepared. Meryem Aydın selects the background, floor, color, texture, and props based on the product; Burak Bulut Yıldırım and the video team set up lighting on set for four surface types: glossy, glass, metal, and matte. These visuals are not generated by artificial intelligence.

Synthetic imagery is also used in the market under the heading of “product photography with set design.” Synthetic scenes can alter the texture of the packaging, the product’s proportions, and color accuracy. We physically bring the products into the studio and set up the scene using real materials. The product you see on screen is based on the actual shape, color, and texture of the product that comes out of the box.

Scope of the Proposal

How is the campaign production budget determined?

The quote is determined by 12 factors: shoot date, crew size, number of sets, number of products, models and usage rights, location, art direction, styling, hair and makeup, number of photos and videos, retouching and editing, and delivery formats. The proposal is prepared based on the project scope, number of products, type of shoot, model/set requirements, and post-production details.

Preparing for the shoot

What should you prepare before shipping your products?

Six pre-shoot checks reduce wait times on production day: ensuring products are clean and complete, checking for spare units, reviewing the variation list, confirming distribution channels, verifying reference images, and specifying the return policy after the shoot. Shipping conditions for fragile, valuable, or functional products are additionally specified in writing.

Prepare the products so that they are clean, complete, ironed, and in working order.
Add an extra item to account for the risk of breakage, staining, or damage to the packaging.
Match the list of SKUs, colors, sizes, and variations with the products.
List the uses of the web, marketplaces, social media, advertising, and print.
Add the images you like and the ones you want to avoid to the brief.
Please specify your preference for return, storage, or courier service after the shoot.

Remote work: You can ship products from various cities in Turkey and from Europe to our Istanbul studio. The processes of product acceptance, brief, mood board, shoot list, selection, revisions, and delivery are conducted remotely. Productions requiring models or locations in Berlin and Europe are planned on a project-by-project basis; a physical street address is not used for Berlin.

Approval and revisions during filming: Framing and focus are controlled during the computer-assisted shoot, and the required shots are approved together during filming. The post-production selection phase is completed. Corrections related to color, cleanup, and format in the delivered files are addressed within the scope of the project; new requests outside the scope are planned separately.

Overview

How does the production process expand from a white-label campaign?

At LUX Production, the process begins with white-background product photos and videos tailored for platforms like Amazon and Trendyol, as needed. We then move on to more comprehensive campaign production—including styled still life, model, location shoots, and 9:16 and 16:9 videos—tailored to the product’s segment, target audience, and use cases.

With the support of art direction, a concept and mood board specific to the product line are developed. When necessary, model selection, usage rights, styling, hair and makeup, location, set design, and both studio and on-location shoots are planned together. The brand receives a set of complementary assets for advertising, social media, the website, e-commerce, catalogs, and product launches.

The products, decor, sets, surfaces, and lighting are based on actual production. The images shown on this page are not synthetic campaign visuals generated by artificial intelligence.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear Answers About Advertising and Campaign Production

For which brands is brand campaign production suitable?

Ideal for brands launching new products or collections that require a consistent visual style for advertising, e-commerce, social media, catalogs, and product launches. The scope covers cosmetics, jewelry, fashion, accessories, shoes, handbags, home textiles, sports, food, health, and technology products; planning is tailored to specific needs regarding products, media channels, sets, models, and videos.

Can photos, videos, and white-background shots be produced as part of the same project?

Yes. If the number of products, studio space, and crew schedule allow, three teams can work on three parallel production lines on the same day: white-background product photography, staged photography, and staged or model-based video. When the product workflow is planned in advance, the photos, videos, and packshot files maintain a consistent approach to color, framing, and product presentation.

How do you ensure color accuracy during a campaign shoot?

For each setup, a reference frame is captured using a gray card and a color target. During retouching, white balance and color are adjusted based on this frame. If a physical sample of critical colored packaging or fabric is sent to the studio, the difference is checked on the day of the shoot; if printing is required, the color profile is adjusted separately during the delivery phase.

Do you handle the arrangements for the model, venue, hair, makeup, and styling?

If the project requires it, LUX Production will handle the planning of casting, models or hand models, usage rights, location, hair and makeup, styling, set, surfaces, and props. Meryem Aydın oversees art direction and product presentation, while Burak Bulut Yıldırım manages lighting, camera, optics, and shooting decisions. The scope is outlined in the proposal via a mood board.

What is the difference between campaign production and product photography against a white background?

White-background photography presents the product in a clean, comparable, and marketplace-ready format. Campaign production creates a broader visual world around the product, incorporating a physical set, models, styling, locations, still life, and video. In many projects, both approaches are planned within the same brief; white-background shots fuel the sales page, while campaign visuals support brand communication.

How does the retouching and revision process work?

Composition and focus are controlled in real time via a computer during the shoot. Alternatives are then shared for selection; once approved, the selected shots undergo post-processing to ensure product cleanliness, color, texture, and contour, as well as any necessary further retouching. Corrections related to color, cleanliness, and format in the delivered files are addressed within the scope of the project. Requests for new editing or shoots outside the scope of the project are planned separately.

Can we ship products from outside Istanbul or from Europe?

Yes. Products from various cities in Turkey and from Europe can be shipped to the Istanbul studio. Product acceptance, inventory checks, briefs, mood boards, shoot lists, selection, revisions, and delivery are all handled remotely. Fragility, commercial value, insurance, returns, and shipping terms are specified in writing prior to the shoot. Productions in Berlin and Europe are planned on a project-by-project basis.

How are model usage rights determined?

Model usage rights are determined based on the country, media platform, duration of the campaign, advertising budget, whether the campaign is organic or paid, and the model’s form of appearance. Photography and video rights may differ. The model’s or agency’s terms and conditions are included in the written proposal and contract prior to the shoot; if a new country or medium is added later, the scope is reassessed.

Are campaign visuals and decorations created using artificial intelligence?

No. In the campaign photos we deliver, the product, model, decor, set, surfaces, and lighting are all based on the actual production. Our art director selects product-specific props and physically sets up the background and floor texture; the photography and video team sets up the lighting on set. This ensures that the actual proportions of the packaging design, product color, texture, and model are preserved.

What is the turnaround time in business days for campaign production?

The delivery timeframe is determined based on the number of products, the type of shoot, the number of sets, the scope of photography and video, and the intensity of editing and retouching. For standard e-commerce and product projects, 3–10 business days is a realistic timeframe. For comprehensive campaigns, multi-day shoots, or intensive video projects, a separate schedule is prepared; dates are finalized in writing at the start of the project.

How is the price determined for campaign production?

Quotes are prepared based on the scope of the project, the number of products, the type of shoot, model/set requirements, and post-production details. The shoot date, crew size, location, casting, model usage rights, styling, hair and makeup, physical set, number of photos and videos, retouching, editing, and delivery formats all influence the quote. Once the brief is finalized, a written scope of work with defined items is shared.
