All images of facilities, machinery, products, and employees on this page are taken from actual photographs. In the work we publish, the imagery, decor, sets, surfaces, or lighting are not generated by artificial intelligence. Burak Bulut manages the lighting and framing. For portable product sets, Meryem Aydın prepares the physical surfaces, set design, and product presentation; the LUX team executes the on-site plan in collaboration with the production managers.

What is industrial photography?

Industrial photography documents factories, production lines, machinery, technical products, and employees according to a planned shoot list. LUX Production plans photography, factory promotional videos, drone footage, and executive portraits within the same project at its Istanbul studio and across its Berlin/Europe service area.

Applications

Different croppings and file types are prepared from the same source material for websites, catalogs, trade shows, export presentations, press kits, and employer branding.

Scope of the Site

Production line, process, quality control, warehouse, logistics, employee, manager, exterior, and drone shots are each defined separately in the shot list.

Product Scope

Large machinery and stationary equipment are photographed on-site; portable technical products are photographed against a white background, a black background, or under controlled lighting conditions.

Three parallel production lines

3 sets, 3 teams1 day, equivalent to 2–3 days of productionA unified visual language in photography and video

For on-site projects, we schedule production photography, video, and portrait shoots with separate teams. For industrial products that can be transported to our Istanbul studio, set-based video, set-based photography, and white-background shoots run on three parallel sets; we complete a scope that other productions might spread over 2–3 days in just one day. This ensures that photos and videos are prepared using the same lighting, color, and product presentation decisions.

Shooting Schedule

How do you plan a factory promotional video and an industrial photo shoot?

An industrial shoot is planned in 5 steps: project summary, safety boundaries, shot list, distribution channels, and approval workflow. LUX Production brings together the production line, product details, team profiles, and video plans under a unified visual direction; it organizes the shooting schedule according to shift and machine rhythms.

Pre-shoot preparations

Production areas, off-limits sections, employee schedules, shift hours, machine operating rhythms, and the need for protective equipment are discussed in advance. For most projects, we create a shot list using facility photos, short phone videos, and online meetings. For large facilities or those with high security levels, a site survey is scheduled prior to filming.

Shooting Day Schedule

First, the general layout of the facility and the production flow are filmed. Footage of machinery, processes, product details, quality control, the warehouse, logistics, portraits of managers, and team photos is completed in the specified order. The video crew incorporates footage of moving scenes, drone shots, and interview segments into the same schedule.

What information should you have ready before the shoot?

01Facility location and list of episodes to be filmed
02Shift, machinery, and workplace safety conditions
03Needs for photos, videos, drone footage, and interviews
04Applications for websites, catalogs, trade shows, and presentations
05Reference images and the person responsible for internal approval

What kinds of images are produced in industrial photography?

The shot list is organized into 5 main groups: production line, factory footage, machine and product details, portraits of management and the team, and drone footage. Each group is prepared with separate shots tailored for use on websites, in catalogs, at trade shows, in dealer presentations, in export portfolios, or in human resources communications.

Drone and exterior facility footagePromotional video, website banner image, trade show video, investor presentationAirspace, permits, the security zone, and the area surrounding the facility are clarified before filming begins.

What video streams can be used in a factory promotional video?

A factory video consists of 8 main shots: general view of the facility, production line, machine close-up, employee, quality control, warehouse and logistics, drone footage, and an interview with a manager. The editing duration and sequence are determined based on the distribution channel; both the widescreen trade show video and vertical social media clips are produced from the same footage.

Real-world locations and physical sets

How can an industrial product be displayed in its true form?

Metal, glass, plastic, and painted surfaces are photographed on location or in a physical studio set. Burak Bulut Yıldırım determines the direction of light, controls reflections, and sets the technical framing. For portable products, Meryem Aydın prepares the actual background, surface, and product presentation; the image, decor, set, surface, and lighting are not generated by artificial intelligence.

Some of the decorated product samples on the market can be created using artificial intelligence. At LUX Production, the product seen on screen is the actual physical product delivered for the shoot. The packaging texture, paint, connection points, dimensions, and color are recorded under controlled lighting.

Line 1Styled video

9:16 and 16:9 moving images are created using continuous lighting, a motorized slider, a turntable, macro transitions, and focus tracking.

Line 2Styled photo

Depending on the product's material, the background, surface, props, and lighting are set up; advertising and catalog photos are taken.

Line 3Product photography on a white background

Product images with comparable angles and cropped frames suitable for technical sales, dealer brochures, catalogs, and e-commerce are produced.

Should industrial product photography be planned separately from factory photography?

Large machines and stationary equipment are typically photographed on-site at the production facility. Small, portable products are brought to the studio for photography against a white background, a black background, or a set with physical props. The decision is based on the product’s size, surface, portability, and whether it will be used for a catalog, e-commerce, or advertising.

White background

Catalog and Technical Sales

Consistent angles show the product’s form and connection points clearly. For technical documentation and e-commerce, we include product photography with a white background in the same project.

Black background

Advertising and Product Presentation

Controlled reflection and depth of field make the weight, shape, finished surface, and edge structure of the metal part stand out more clearly.

Production area

Scale and capacity

Showcasing the product alongside the machinery and staff makes the production context, actual scale, and technical capabilities clear in a B2B presentation.

How are the framing, selection, retouching, and revision processes managed?

During computer-assisted shooting, we check the framing, focus, and lighting on the screen. The photo selection, rough video edit, and delivery formats are shared with the designated approver. Corrections to the delivered files related to color, cleanup, and format are included in the scope of the project.

Centralizing the approval process with a single person before filming helps keep the schedule on track. When feedback from the production manager, the marketing team, and management is consolidated internally and communicated in a single list, the photo selection and video editing processes proceed more smoothly.

Can corporate photography be added to the same on-site shoot day?

Yes. When a factory tour is organized, shots of executives, a large group photo, a meeting, the warehouse, the building’s exterior, and industrial products are all included in the same photo shoot. This ensures that the resulting files—for the website, press kit, LinkedIn, export presentations, and employer branding—all share a consistent color and lighting style.

Please send the project details for the factory shoot

Please provide details on the production facility’s location, the number of segments to be filmed, photography and video requirements, drone requirements, the need for portraits of executives or the team, and the platforms to be used. Based on this information, the shot list, crew composition, and on-site schedule should be finalized in the proposal document.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions About Industrial Photography and Factory Promotional Videos

We have addressed the topics discussed prior to the proposal—shoot duration, production workflow, drones, video, industrial products, executive portraits, delivery, and pricing—below.

What is industrial photography?

Industrial photography involves the systematic documentation of factories, production lines, machinery, technical products, employees, quality control, warehouses, and logistics processes. The shoot list is prepared according to the intended use—whether for websites, catalogs, trade shows, presentations, or press materials. This ensures that production capacity, technical details, and the work environment are all compiled within the same corporate archive.

What is a factory promotional video, and where is it used?

A factory promotional video showcases the facility’s scale, machinery, production flow, employees, and quality processes through moving images. It can be used on websites, at trade show displays, in dealer presentations, during export meetings, in investor presentations, on LinkedIn, and in corporate promotional materials. The video includes drone footage, executive interviews, graphics, music, and various aspect ratios.

How many hours or days does it take to film at a factory?

The duration of the shoot varies depending on the size of the facility, the number of sections, the production line’s pace, the need for drones, and the scope of the video. Small-scale projects can be scheduled for half a day. For facilities with multiple sections, a full day or a longer schedule may be required. Photography, video, interviews, and portraits are each allocated separate time estimates prior to the proposal.

Does production need to be halted during filming?

In most projects, production does not need to come to a complete halt. The team monitors shift and machine schedules while adhering to safety protocols. Short setup breaks may be required for machine cleaning, product placement, employee portraits, or the reenactment of a specific process. The shooting schedule is planned in advance with the production manager to minimize the need for interruptions.

What factors determine the price of an industrial photo shoot?

Pricing is determined based on the facility’s location and size, the number of scenes to be filmed, the scope of photography and video, drone use, crew requirements, the shoot date, interviews, the number of products, and editing and post-production details. To get started, simply send us the location, the list of segments, the intended uses, and sample visual direction. We will use this information to prepare a customized quote for your project.

Can drone footage be included in a factory promotional video?

Yes. Drone footage is included in the film to show the facility’s exterior scale, layout, storage areas, shipping routes, and connections to the surrounding area. The flight plan is evaluated based on weather conditions, the facility’s surroundings, security zones, legal permit requirements, and the time of filming. If a drone flight is not possible, exterior and high-angle shots are used instead.

Should the shoot take place at an industrial production facility or in a studio?

Large machines, engines, fixed equipment, and production components are typically photographed on-site. Small and portable products can be photographed against a white background, a black background, or on a studio set with physical props. The appropriate method is selected based on the product’s dimensions, weight, surface, and intended use. If necessary, on-site and studio shoots are combined within the same project.

How is workplace safety managed in industrial filming?

This is the first step in the workplace safety shoot checklist. Areas to be filmed, protective equipment, employee clearances, hot surfaces, moving machinery, forklift traffic, sparks, dust, and safe crew positions are discussed before the shoot. When necessary, the site workflow is coordinated with the shift supervisor, the occupational safety officer, and the production manager.

How do retouching and revisions work?

During computer-assisted filming, we check the framing, focus, and lighting on the screen. A selection of photos and a rough video edit are sent to the approver designated by the organization. Corrections to the delivered files related to color, cleanup, and format are included in the scope of the project.

Do you use artificial intelligence to generate visuals for industrial shoots?

No. The facilities, machinery, products, employees, decor, surfaces, and lighting you see on the page are captured during an actual photo shoot. Portable products are set up on a physical set; packaging textures, paint, metal surfaces, and colors are shown under controlled lighting. Synthetic factory or product images generated by artificial intelligence are not presented as actual production examples.

How do three parallel production lines work?

At our Istanbul studio, shoots for industrial products—including branded videos, branded photos, and white-background shots—are conducted on the same day across 3 sets with 3 crews. For on-site projects, production photography, factory videos, and portraits of executives or teams are scheduled on separate tracks. We complete a scope of work that other production companies might spread over 2–3 days in just one day.

Project Summary

What should you submit for the proposal?

Facility location, list of departments, photo and video requirements, drone requirements, areas of use, and, if applicable, the scope of portraits of management or the team.

Plan

How does the shooting schedule become clear?

First, we discuss on-site safety and the production schedule. Plans for the machinery, products, employees, warehouse, drones, and interviews are organized in the order of filming.

Delivery

How are the files prepared?

Photo and video files are prepared in terms of framing, resolution, and format depending on whether they are intended for use on a website, in a catalog, at a trade show, in a presentation, on social media, or for press use.

The product you see on the screen is the actual physical product included in the set. The factory setting, machine surfaces, set design, background, and lighting are prepared during the actual production; synthetic images generated by artificial intelligence are not used as portfolio examples.
