Fashion and Textile Photography: Catalog, Lookbook, Bags, and Shoes
Fashion photography includes the production of ghost mannequin shots, flat lays, model-based e-commerce images, catalogs, lookbooks, campaign photos, and short videos for ready-to-wear, swimwear, children’s clothing, handbags, shoes, leather goods, and accessory collections. LUX Production carries out these shoots at its Istanbul studio with a single team.
The type of shoot is determined based on the number of SKUs and variants, the sales channel, the number of angles per product, the model and styling requirements, and the delivery format. The approval, selection, revision, and delivery process for products shipped from Turkey and Europe can be managed remotely.
The SKU, product quantity, product types, and sales channels, along with a sample image, are sufficient for an initial assessment. After reviewing the list, we clarify the shoot mix and the scope of the proposal.
Actual collection, physical production: None of the visuals, decor, sets, surfaces, or lighting on this page were generated by artificial intelligence. The product’s color, texture, and pattern were captured on a real set under controlled lighting conditions.

Which fashion shoot formats can be produced together?
At the LUX Production Istanbul studio, four main fashion production formats can be integrated into the same collection plan: mannequin shots, flat lay, on-model shots, and campaign videos. The angle, lighting, styling, and delivery format are determined separately for each format.
Product Form and E-commerce Standard
The silhouette is clearly visible in shirts, jackets, dresses, and outerwear. Front, back, side, and detail shots are taken using the same framing approach across the entire product line.
Fabric, sewing, and accessories
Ironing, folding, pleating, printing, zippers, buttons, leather, suede, and metal details are highlighted using controlled lighting. Different aspect ratios can be prepared for e-commerce and social media.
Fit, styling, and versatility
Model selection, sizing, styling, hair, makeup, background and movement are planned around the collection’s intended use. A lookbook emphasizes the collection’s styling, while on-model e-commerce photography emphasizes the details needed for sales.
Movement in sync with the photo
Videos in aspect ratios ranging from 9:16 to 16:9 can be produced to capture fabric movement, walking, bag usage, and shoe details. The set is set up to capture movement under continuous lighting.
Catalog shoots, lookbooks, and campaigns: Plan based on your product line
Ready-to-wear clothing, socks, children’s clothing, bags, and shoes each require a different presentation. We plan catalog (e-commerce), lifestyle, and campaign images separately for each product category, and include only the images you’ll use in your proposal.

Ready-to-wear and seasonal collection
- Catalog
- Ghost mannequin or mannequin against a white background; front, back, side, and fabric details.
- Lifestyle
- Lookbook, outfit combinations, and action shots.
- Campaign
- Seasonal photos and a short video from the venue.

Socks
- Catalog
- Close-ups of single pairs, packs, and patterns; matching shots in all colors. We photographed hundreds of products for Dündar Socks using this setup.
- Lifestyle
- Wear them on their own or pair them with shoes.
- Campaign
- Color scheme and social media posts.

Children's clothing
- Catalog
- Mannequins, on hangers or laid flat; group shots with accessories.
- Lifestyle

- Campaign
- Themes and seasonal scenes: New Year's, holidays, back-to-school season.

Bags, shoes, and leather
- Catalog
- Side profile, sole, heel, heel counter, and interior volume; reflection control.
- Lifestyle
- Can be used in the hand, on the shoulder, or while standing.
- Campaign
- Stylized still lifes and campaign shots featuring models.

Ghost mannequin
The product is photographed on a mannequin, which is removed during retouching. The garment’s shape and cut remain visible without a model; every product in a multi-product catalog uses consistent framing.

Photo shoot with models
A live model wears the product. The model’s posture, body shape, outfit, and movements are visible; the lookbook and campaign images show how the product is worn.
How are collection and reorder photo shoots planned?
During the first shoot, we document the lighting setup, framing dimensions, background, and retouching settings. For the new season, new colors, or repeat orders, we photograph products to the same high standard and deliver files that perfectly match your catalog. Share your seasonal calendar with us, and we’ll schedule the shoot dates according to your collection timelines.

Why are fashion products photographed on a real set?
The drape of the fabric, the texture of the leather surface, the reflection of the metal accessories, and the product color are each checked separately on the physical set. Meryem Aydın prepares the backdrop, floor, props, and styling according to the brand’s specifications; Burak Bulut Yıldırım sets up the lighting, optics, and framing appropriate for the product’s design.
What decisions are made before the shoot?
Once we receive the product list and intended channels, we prepare a moodboard, shot list and production plan. The background, set, props, models, framing, video, retouching and delivery aspect ratios are agreed before the shoot and recorded in the set plan.
SKU, variant, product type, distribution channel, and sample image.

How are product color and fabric texture preserved in fashion photo shoots?
At the LUX Production Istanbul studio, products, models, backdrops, sets, surfaces, and lighting are physically prepared; no element of the shoot is generated using artificial intelligence or synthetic methods. Fabrics, leather, suede, and metal accessories are photographed using separate lighting setups based on the product’s true color and surface characteristics.
Synthetic backgrounds can create a misleading impression of the product’s cut, stitching, fabric texture, and color. Meryem Aydın physically prepares brand-specific props, backdrops, flooring, colors, and styling. Burak Bulut Yıldırım and the video team set up custom lighting on set to capture reflections, texture, and movement.

How are prices for fashion and textile photo shoots determined?
The price of a fashion photo shoot is determined based on the number of SKUs and variants, the number of angles per product, the mix of mannequins, flat lays, and models, the number of looks, styling, usage rights, set, video, and retouching scope. For standard e-commerce projects, the selection and delivery schedule is typically planned within 3–10 business days.
We prepare each quote from the shot list. Photographing 30 products from consistent angles against a white background involves different staffing, time and post-production work from a seasonal campaign with models, outdoor locations, hair, makeup and video. You can explore the production framework shared across product categories on our Product Photography as a Core Service You can check it out on the page.
How many products will be photographed?
The number of products, color variations, sizes, and the number of angles required per product determine the duration of the shoot and the number of final files.
Which photography and video formats are needed?
A lighting plan is required for each of the following: mannequin shots, flat lay, white background, model shots, lookbook, campaign, and video.
How large is the production team?
The model agency, usage rights, fittings, styling, and hair and makeup preparations with the team all affect the scope of the shoot day.
Studio or outdoor?
Custom backdrops, physical sets, props, living spaces, outdoor location permits and logistics are budgeted separately.
How much retouching does the product need?
Surface inspection of leather, patent leather, suede, metal, and fine fabrics; cleaning, wrinkles, and the need for trimming affect post-production.
Which channels will the broadcast be prepared for?
Video duration, 9:16/16:9 aspect ratios, editing, music, web, marketplace, catalog, and social media files determine the workload.
What should you prepare before coming to the studio for your photo shoot?
Five key pieces of information and preparation steps before a fashion shoot can speed up the process: clean and ironed products, an SKU-variant list, backup units, sample visuals/distribution channels, and post-shoot return preferences. For products that require fitting, sizes are matched to the model’s measurements in advance.
Product Preparation
- Please ship the products clean, complete, ironed, and with their labels checked.
- For delicate, sample, or easily creased items, include an extra piece if possible.
- Match the SKUs, colors, sizes, and product names with the packing list.
- Don't forget complementary items such as bag liners, shoelaces, accessories, and boxes.
- Please indicate your preference for a return, hold, or shipment to a different address when you receive the product.
Preparing the Brief
- For each product, specify the required front, back, side, detail, and usage angles.
- Enter the intended use: website, marketplace, B2B catalog, advertising, or social media.
- Share examples of images you like and those you want to avoid.
- Clarify the model's size, the number of looks, and the hair and makeup requirements.
- Add file specifications, the target delivery date, and video requirements.
Additional planning for leather, bags, and shoes
Reflection, upper, sole, heel, metal hardware, and leather texture are inspected separately for each product. For details on the preparation process, Tips for Styling Leather Shoes in the guide, for completed projects Our shoe photography portfolio you can take a look.
Can products be shipped from Turkey and Europe?
Yes. Products from various cities in Turkey and from Europe can be shipped to the LUX Production Istanbul studio. Product acceptance, shot list, online mood board approval, selection, retouching, revision, and delivery are managed through a 6-step remote workflow. On-location production can also be arranged for suitable projects in Berlin and across Europe.

Clear Answers About Fashion, Textile, Handbag, and Shoe Photo Shoots
What factors determine the prices of fashion and textile photo shoots?
Pricing is determined based on the SKU and color variant, the number of angles per product, the distribution of mannequins/flat lays/models, the number of looks, styling, hair and makeup, model usage rights, set, location, video, and retouching scope. Once the product list and distribution channels are provided, a project proposal is prepared by planning each production item separately.
Do you have a price list for a ready-made fashion photo shoot?
We do not publish fixed package prices. Photographing 30 products from consistent angles against a white background involves different staffing, shoot duration and post-production work from a seasonal campaign with models, outdoor locations, styling and video. An SKU list, intended channel and reference image are enough to start preparing an appropriate budget.
What is the difference between a lookbook, a catalog, and an e-commerce photoshoot?
A lookbook showcases the collection’s styling language, model poses, and seasonal atmosphere. A catalog systematically presents the product line using consistent lighting and framing. E-commerce photography focuses on clearly and consistently showcasing the product’s shape, color, and front, back, and side views, as well as any details required by the sales channel.
What details are important when photographing bags and shoes?
For shoes, the side profile, upper shape, sole, heel, toe, upper, stitching, and how the model wears the shoe are each photographed separately. For bags, the handle, strap, interior volume, whether carried by hand or over the shoulder, leather texture, zipper, and metal hardware are shown. In multi-product shots, product scale, shading, color, and angle standards are maintained.
Can we ship products from outside Istanbul or from Europe?
Yes. Products from various cities in Turkey and from Europe can be shipped to our studio in Istanbul. The package list and product condition are checked upon receipt. The mood board, shoot list, reference images, selection, retouching, and revisions are handled digitally. After the shoot, we can arrange for the return of products or their shipment to another address.
Is the filming taking place in Istanbul or Berlin?
Main product production takes place at the Istanbul studio. Brands in Berlin and throughout Europe can have their products shipped. On-location production can also be arranged for suitable projects. The brief, mood board approval, selection, and revision process are managed remotely. The production location and logistics plan are clearly specified in the written proposal.
Are the model, styling, hair, and makeup included in the quote?
These items are added to the project only if needed. A model may not be required for product photography using a mannequin, flat lay, or white background. For e-commerce, lookbook, and campaign shoots featuring models, model selection, usage rights, fitting, styling, hair, and makeup are clarified as separate production items prior to the proposal.
Can photography and video be produced during the same shoot?
Yes. Ghost mannequin shots, white-background shots, lookbook photos, campaign photos, and short videos are all shot on the same production day. Video sets are planned from the start to accommodate the specific needs of each shoot, such as continuous lighting, motorized sliders, turntables, focus transitions, macro or probe shots, and stop-motion.
How many days is the delivery time?
The turnaround time is determined based on the number of SKUs, the type of shoot, the selection method, and the scope of video and retouching. For standard e-commerce product shoots, 3–10 business days is a realistic timeframe for most projects. For lookbook, campaign, extensive cutout, or video projects, the schedule is additionally specified in writing upon approval of the shoot list.
Can images be prepared separately for the website, marketplace, and social media?
Yes. Main product photos, detail shots, category images, B2B catalog files, marketplace dimensions, social media aspect ratios, and 9:16/16:9 video outputs can be prepared as separate sets of files. The color profile, resolution, crop margins, background, and file format are determined based on the intended use case.
How does the retouching and revision process work?
The mood board, set, model, and shoot list are approved before the shoot. During computer-assisted shoots, we check the framing, focus, and lighting on the screen. For the selected frames, color correction, cleaning, wrinkle removal, surface retouching, clipping, and formatting are performed according to the approved sample. We make any technical corrections after delivery as part of the project.
How do three parallel production lines work?
Three teams work on the same day across the white-background or mannequin, styled photo, lookbook, and styled video production lines. We complete in one day the content that other productions might spread out over 2–3 days. Photography, video, and e-commerce visuals are produced according to a consistent standard for color, framing, styling, and product presentation.
Is artificial intelligence used in fashion and textile photo shoots?
No. None of the products, models, decor, sets, surfaces, or lighting on this page were created using artificial intelligence or synthetic production methods. Meryem Aydın physically sets up the backdrops, floors, props, and styling elements; the production team designs custom lighting for the product’s fabric, leather, suede, and metal surfaces.
