Production plan

How do you plan a product promotional video shoot?

A product promotional video is produced in 6 steps: the product list and distribution channel are reviewed, the creative direction is determined, the physical set is built, the test footage is approved, the main shoot is conducted, and the edited and final versions are prepared. If aspect ratios of 9:16, 16:9, 4:5, and 1:1 are required, framing safety is checked during the first test.

  1. Product and Channel Review

Product codes, dimensions, surface properties, intended use, and distribution channels are compiled into a single list.

  2. Creative Direction and Shot List

The order of scenes, the benefits the product will demonstrate, the need for models, text areas, and delivery rates are determined.

  3. Physical Setup

The background, floor, props, and product placement are set up in the studio using real materials.

  4. Light and Movement Test

Reflections, texture, camera movement, rotation speed, and focus transitions are checked using a test image.

  5. Shooting and on-screen approval

The framing and focus are visible on the monitor during shooting; any necessary adjustments are made as filming continues.

  6. Development and release versions

The selected plans are incorporated into the production; color, music, text, subtitles, and aspect ratios are prepared in accordance with the scope of the proposal.

Technical Approach

Which shooting technique is used for which product?

The choice of technique depends on the product’s surface, size, and intended use. For glossy glass and metal, the focus is on reflection control; for matte surfaces, on texture; for jewelry, on macro details; and for mechanical products, on movement and operating principles. Camera movement, lighting, and the background are set up according to these three characteristics.

Product FeatureSet and Lighting ApproachProper handling and delivery
Glass, glossy packaging, and cosmeticsReflective surfaces are shaped in a controlled manner; the label, liquid, and cap are read separately.Slow-motion camera transitions, close-up details, 9:16 and 16:9 product videos
Jewelry and small metal itemsFor macro-scale clarity, small light fields are set up for metal edges and stone surfaces.Macro close-up, use on a model, short social media reel
Matte, textured, and fabric surfacesDirectional light that does not flatten the texture is used; the distinction between color and material is preserved.Surface scans, usage patterns, product and detail drawings
Mechanical and industrial productsThe operating principle, moving parts, and scale are shown in a clear, logical sequence.Motorized camera track, pan, functional layout, and 16:9 product video
Marketplace and product pageProduct shape, color, and packaging information are recorded using neutral, repeatable lighting.A rotating video, a short product clip, or an interactive 360° series with up to 72 frames
Scope and Proposal

What factors determine the price of a product video?

The quote is prepared based on the number of products, the number of scenes and sets, the film’s runtime, delivery formats ranging from 9:16 to 16:9, model and usage rights, set design, camera movement, sound, editing, and the scope of revisions. Without clarifying these items in the product list, a single fixed price does not accurately reflect the scope of production.

Scope itemHow does this affect the offer?Information Needed for Preparation
Number of products and performancesSet changes, shooting time, product preparation, and the number of shots to be filmed are all determined.Product codes, dimensions, variants, and the scenes required for each product
Delivery ratesThe 9:16, 16:9, 4:5, and 1:1 aspect ratios change the field of view and the number of shots.Information about Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, a website, or a marketplace
Model and usage rightsModel selection, shooting duration, broadcast region, and duration of use are also planned.Countries of use, duration, media, and whether the campaign is budgeted
Set Design and Movement SystemIt determines the need for a special floor, auxiliary objects, a motorized table, a camera rail, and product mounting.Reference images, brand colors, and the number of different sets requested
Post ProductionThe editing process determines the scope of color grading, cleanup, text, subtitles, music, and voice-over.Final deadlines, number of languages, texts, and submission date

  • Please share the brand guidelines and any sample videos you like.
  • Please indicate whether you prefer to return the product or have it stored after the shoot.

How does the process work for products shipped via courier?

Products from various cities in Turkey and from Europe can be shipped to the Istanbul studio. Product Photography If the video is planned as part of the same project, a single product acceptance checklist is used.

01Products are received based on the packing list, and a quantity check is performed.
02The set, test shot, and shooting order are approved remotely.
03Selection, editing notes, and revisions are carried out online.
04Final files are submitted; products are returned using the specified method.
Parallel production capacity

How do photography and video production proceed on the same day?

If the product list and physical space allow, three shooting lines operate on the same day. Line 1 is for stylized video, Line 2 is for stylized product photography, and Line 3 is for white-background e-commerce photography. Consistent colors, backgrounds, and product placement establish a unified visual language across all deliveries.

Line 1

Product video featuring decorative items

The shot is set up with continuous lighting, a motorized camera track, a turntable, and transitions between close-ups and focus changes.

Line 2

Product photo with props

Within the same visual style, the product’s main image, details, and static images suitable for use in campaigns are prepared.

Line 3

White-background e-commerce product photoshoot

Product codes are scanned in sequence; information on style, color, and packaging is recorded in accordance with marketplace standards.

This setup consolidates photo and video work—which would otherwise be spread over 2–3 production days in other production schedules—into a single production day for suitable projects. Decorated product shot with Sample Use Cases They are matched within the same visual shot before filming.

Actual product, physical set

Are the props and set design actually being prepared on set?

Yes. LUX Production physically sets up the backdrop, floor, props, and lighting at its Istanbul studio. Meryem Aydın oversees the product presentation and set design, while Burak Bulut Yıldırım manages lighting and filming decisions. The product shown in the image is the actual product as it comes out of the box.

Reflections on glossy packaging, the color of the liquid on a glass surface, edge lines on metal, and the texture of a matte product are all checked during the setup. The set design prepared for moving images is arranged so that it will not be distorted as the camera moves forward or the product rotates.

The product, set, surfaces, and lighting are based on actual production; no synthetic sets or AI-generated imagery are used. In larger campaign concepts, this approach brand campaign production It can be expanded to include set and usage scenes.

Approval and Revision

What do you approve during filming?

The framing and focus are confirmed together on the monitor during filming. Next, the shots to be used are selected and the editing direction is finalized. Corrections related to color, cleanup, and format in the delivered files are addressed within the scope of the project; new scenes or new edits outside the scope are planned separately.

Three checkpoints to ensure decisions aren't left until after filming

On-set image approval Product placement, framing, movement, reflections, and focus are checked before the main shoot begins.
Shot selection and composition The shots to be used, the sequence of the film, the pacing, and the delivery rates are finalized during the selection phase.
Color, Cleanliness, and Format Revisions covered by the proposal will be incorporated before the final delivery; requests requiring new scope will be planned separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions About Product Introduction Videos

What factors determine the price of a product promotional video?

The price is determined by the number of products, the number of scenes and sets, the video duration, 9:16 and 16:9 versions, model and usage rights, set design, camera movement, editing, music, voice-over, subtitles, and the scope of revisions. Once the project scope is finalized, the shoot date and the final files to be delivered will be listed separately in the written proposal.

How long does it take to receive the product video?

Standard product video projects are typically scheduled within 3–10 business days. The exact timeline is determined at the start of the project once the number of products, number of scenes, need for models, desired shot variations, and scope of editing have been finalized.

How does the revision process work?

The framing and focus are confirmed on the connected screen during filming; the shots to be used in the selection phase and the direction of the edit are finalized. Corrections related to color, cleanup, and format are addressed under the revision provisions of the contract. New scenes, new framing, or new edits outside the scope of the project are planned separately.

Can I ship my products via courier?

Yes. Products from various cities in Turkey and from Europe can be shipped to the Istanbul studio. Product acceptance is based on the shoot list; approval, selection, revisions, and file delivery are handled remotely. To mitigate the risk of damage, the need for spare items and the preference for return after the shoot must be specified during the briefing phase.

Can photos and product videos be shot on the same day of production?

Yes. If the product list and physical space allow, a white background, staged photos, and staged or model-based videos can be produced in parallel across three sets. A shared mood board, color scheme, and framing plan ensure a consistent visual language between the photos and videos.

Are the sets actually built on set, or do you use artificial intelligence?

The background, floor, props, and product surface are physically set up at the Istanbul studio. The product, set, surface, and lighting are based on actual production; synthetic sets or AI-generated imagery are not used in these projects. The packaging texture, product scale, and color are captured using the actual product as it comes out of the box.

Do you provide 9:16 videos for Reels, TikTok, and Shorts?

Yes. The 9:16 aspect ratio, the product’s appearance in the first few seconds, the safe area for text, and silent monitoring are all planned during the shoot. If 4:5, 1:1, and 16:9 versions are required for the same project, the set’s margins are set up so that camera movement accommodates all formats.

What is the difference between a rotating product video and an interactive 360° view?

In the rotating video, the product is recorded as a continuous stream on a motorized turntable, and the video file is delivered. In the interactive 360-degree view, the product is photographed from up to 72 different angles depending on the project; the user rotates the product on the screen themselves. The rotating system in the studio can handle products weighing up to 130 kg.
