Professional Portrait and Profile Photography Sessions in Istanbul
Personal brand portraits, executive portraits, artist visuals, and actor headshots don’t all follow the same stylistic approach. This page is designed to help you choose the right portrait style based on where the photo will be used.
Sessions take place at our studio in Kağıthane, a five-minute walk from the Levent Metro station. Burak Bulut Yıldırım oversees lighting setup, framing, and direction; scheduling, organization on the day of the shoot, image selection, and delivery are handled by the LUX team. Since 2005, we have photographed portraits for clients including Google Turkey, PwC, Netaş Holding, Borusan Energy, Iyzico, and Xiaomi Turkey.
There is no fixed price list for portrait photography. The quote is determined by the duration of the shoot, the number of final images to be delivered, the location, the need for a team shoot, and the scope of retouching. All photos taken are shared in low resolution the next day for you to select from; the final shots you choose are retouched and delivered. For corporate group shoots, we set up a mobile studio at your office.
Which portrait session is right for you?
The intended use determines the type of portrait. An executive portrait is appropriate for LinkedIn, company websites, and team pages; a personal brand portrait is suitable for consultants, academics, and authors; an artist portrait is ideal for album covers, Spotify, and press kits; and an actor’s headshot is the right choice for casting agency applications. All four styles are planned at the same studio.

“The entire process went smoothly, from the initial stage all the way through to receiving the photos. It’s really hard not to feel at ease when working with Burak Hoca. Besides, it wouldn’t be right for me to comment on Burak Hoca’s experience and talent. I’m very pleased with all of my personal branding and corporate portrait photos, and I love using them across all platforms. I’d also like to thank the entire team once again for their support throughout the process!”
Mr. Burak and his team turned the photo shoot—which I found stressful—into a really fun experience with their constructive and reassuring approach, and the result turned out exactly as I’d hoped. Thank you so much.
As a result of my research on the internet, I decided to have my headshot photos taken by trusting the comments, I am glad that I did, first of all, it is important for me to write the current prices on the site, I was able to learn the price information in a very short time, and then the process that started with the message of Ms. Duygu continued with the professionalism of Mr. Burak, with my entry into the studio. My ninety-minute shootings flowed like water in the way I wanted without getting bored, a studio that deserves the return of their efforts with their energy and services, I hope it will always continue like this.
“A studio where you can freely adapt the concept you have in mind and that offers high-quality photoshoots. I went there, was very satisfied, and I recommend it to everyone.”
“They’re truly an extremely professional, warm, friendly, and successful team. They go out of their way to help at every stage—from the booking process to the photo shoot—and take the best possible care of you. During the shoot, they do everything in their power until you’re completely satisfied and achieve the results you desire. I hope we’ll have the chance to work together again someday. A huge thank you to the entire team.”
“I was very pleased to work with you. Everyone really liked my profile photos. I highly recommend you.”
“For my headshot sessions this year, I chose to work with Burak Bulut and his team of experienced photographers—and I’m so glad I did. I realized just how right that decision was when I met my dear friend Esma—her wonderful energy guided me toward the perfect emotions for the shoot. From now on, we’ll be together for every photo update :) Thank you so much.”
“I was there for a photo shoot for LinkedIn. It was an incredibly charming studio, and they managed to create a look that was very close to the portfolio of examples we’d collected on Pinterest. I also can’t overlook the Spotify playlists that helped build the hype. I definitely recommend them.”
What is a professional portrait shoot, and why does it start with choosing a location?
A professional portrait shoot is the process of transforming a person’s public image not into a single photograph, but into a set of usable images. During a single session, horizontal, vertical, and square compositions, as well as close-up and half-length options, are produced together; this way, a LinkedIn cover photo, company team page, press release, and presentation can all be sourced from the same photo shoot.
A casting director and an investor do not view the same face in the same way. In a casting portfolio, the skin texture and range of expressions are expected to remain unaltered; in a presentation to investors, however, corporate professionalism and consistency with the fund’s investment strategy take precedence. The intensity of the lighting, the framing distance, and the extent of retouching vary according to these expectations.
Real studio, real lighting—no AI-generated portraits
Every frame on this page was captured on camera during a real shoot on a real set. Skin texture, reflections in glasses, the edge of hair, and fabric creases are all captured as they appear in reality. We do not use synthetically generated faces, synthetic backgrounds, or artificially added lighting.
The practical implication of this is simple. When someone who sees your profile photo meets you in person, they’ll see the same face. Whether it’s a casting call, a meeting with an investor, or a job interview, the discrepancy between the photo and reality won’t become an issue of trust.
Our retouching approach follows this same principle. Temporary blemishes, stray hairs, fabric wrinkles, and background imperfections are removed; facial proportions, bone structure, and signs of aging are not altered. Retouching is intentionally kept even more minimal in casting and actor files.
Multiple installations in a single session
Multiple backdrops and lighting setups are kept ready in the studio on the same day. During a single session, the photographer can work sequentially with a dark backdrop and a light backdrop, hard-edged lighting and soft lighting, and seated and standing shots. Costume changes are also planned into this workflow.
- More than one fund
- Multiple lighting setups
- Horizontal, vertical, and square framing
- Change of clothes
In corporate team photo shoots, the logic is reversed. This time, a single setup is fixed; the lighting, background, eye level, framing, and retouching approach remain consistent throughout the entire team. When the photos of a 30-person team are placed side by side on a page, they all adhere to the same standard.
Where and with whom are portrait sessions held in Istanbul?
Shootings take place at LUX Production’s Kağıthane studio, a 5-minute walk from the Levent Metro station. Burak Bulut Yıldırım, who has managed the studio since 2005, makes decisions regarding lighting, framing, and direction. Scheduling, the shoot day workflow, the selection gallery, and delivery are all handled by the LUX team. For on-location shoots, a mobile studio is set up at the office.
Portrait sessions at the Istanbul studio are scheduled in blocks according to a seasonal calendar. We confirm availability during the initial correspondence so that wardrobe preparations and, if applicable, hair and makeup plans can be finalized before the shoot.
