Product Photography with Set Design and Still Life Video Production

Stylized product photography is a still life and lifestyle photography approach that removes the product from a plain white background and places it within a composition created through the selection of textures, colors, and props. The goal is not mere decoration; it is to make the product’s material, usage context, and target audience clearly evident in a single frame.

Real set · Not artificial intelligence

On this page Every set, every floor, and every light is real. Not a single frame features a synthetic set or backdrop generated by artificial intelligence. Our art director sources decor specifically for your company and physically designs the background, floor color, and texture; our photographer and videographer set up a lighting design tailored to each product on set. On most product pages with similar set designs, nearly all the images are synthetic visuals generated by artificial intelligence; there, the product appears not in a real set, but in a simulated environment. We do the exact opposite: your product is photographed in a physical set, surrounded by real props and real lighting.

We produce both stylized photos and short product videos in the same shoot for e-commerce, cosmetics, jewelry, home textiles, home decor, food, and promotional brands. We create visuals that complement your white-background pack shots and stand out on your website and social media. The project is planned after clarifying the product category, distribution channel, and type of shoot, and a quote is provided accordingly. The budget is determined based on the number of products, the number of sets, the need for models or props, video requirements, and the level of retouching.

The production model that sets us apart: three sets, three teams, and a single visual language—all in a single day

LUX Production does not operate with the mindset of a small studio that limits itself to a single type of shoot. On the same production day three separate filming sets in parallel We have a creative team capable of setting up camera and lens systems and studio lighting: on a set animated video, on a set staged photo, on a set white background product shot We work simultaneously on three separate fronts. This has two major benefits. First, a synergy develops among the teams on the day of the shoot, making it easier to establish a common visual language across all visuals; photography, video, and the white background share the same color, texture, and compositional logic. Second, we can complete a project in a single day that other companies take 2–3 days to finish. On the set-based video side, using constant lighting, motorized sliding tracks, macro, and stop-motion solutions, we produce sales-ready 9:16 and 16:9 videos from the same setup—where most studios limit themselves to just photography.

Still Life

A still-life-style photo shoot in which the product is displayed within a composition featuring props and accessories that illustrate its use and contents. The set design is chosen to match the product’s style and target audience; the focus always remains on the product.

Lifestyle

A shot showing the product in its actual context of use. When shopping online, users evaluate a product not only based on how it looks, but also on where it fits into their own lives.

The difference from white fondant

A white background presents the product in a neutral way and in line with the catalog; a stylized shoot, on the other hand, places the product within a specific context, texture, and color scheme. The two are not competing but complementary, and are generally planned within the same brief.

Let’s talk about your product line and work together to determine the right product mix.

Let us know the number of products, the distribution channel, and your video requirements; we’ll prepare a customized set design and quote for your staged photos and still-life videos.

Decorated Photo Shoot Concepts

Real production, not synthetic

Real sets, real lighting: not a single frame was generated by artificial intelligence

Almost all of the images you see today on product photography pages featuring staged setups are synthetic compositions generated by artificial intelligence; the product appears in an "imagined" environment rather than on an actual set. These images do not accurately represent the brand’s actual product, packaging texture, or color accuracy. We do not use any AI-generated decor or sets in any of the images on this page. Every composition is set up in a physical studio using real materials and natural light.

Our Art Director We personally handle the decor shopping tailored to your company; we design the background, floor color, and texture specifically for your project. Our photographer and videographer They set up a custom lighting design for each product on set: they manage reflections on glossy packaging, glass, and metal, and highlight the texture on matte surfaces. In other words, the texture, shadows, and highlights you see are real; the product you see on screen is exactly the same as the one that comes out of the box.

Our unique approach to stylized video also stems from this real-world setup: continuous lighting capable of capturing motion, a motorized sliding track and turntable, macro/probe lens changes, focus shifting, and stop-motion when needed. A static photo set often looks out of place in a video; since our sets are designed for motion from the start, the same set delivers both magazine-quality stills and a fluid product video.

On the same day, three sets

We run three production lines in parallel in a single day

The three-set capacity we described at the beginning of this page works like this in practice: three shooting lines are set up simultaneously on the same day, a common visual language is established among the teams, and work that other companies spread out over 2–3 days is completed in a single day.

Line 1 · White background

A clean white background for cutouts and marketplace main visuals. Color accuracy and clean edges are planned here; for details, Product photography on a white background with a cutout You can check out the page.

Line 2 · Decorative photo

Realistic backgrounds, textures, and prop setups tailored to the product’s materials and price range. Concept photos and magazine-style compositions are produced in this line.

Track 3 · Animated video

The animated version of the set with the same decor. Product introduction video and Reels, when needed Model lifestyle photo shoot is planned within the same brief.

Process

How do we plan a photo shoot with props?

When the product arrives at the studio, the surface, color, packaging, and distribution channel are first checked. The brand’s positioning, color palette, and target audience are discussed; the answers to questions such as whether it’s luxury or everyday use, which age group it targets, and which platform it’s intended for directly determine the set design. Next, a mood board is agreed upon, decor and props are selected, and the floor and background textures are finalized. Accessories are chosen to highlight the product; large objects that might distract from the product are avoided. Art direction and set design play a key role in product and campaign shoots. Meryem Aydın Yıldırım is responsible for; lighting and camera decisions Burak Bulut Yildirim executes.

Surface and material

Glossy packaging, glass, metal, and transparent surfaces require glare control; on matte and textured surfaces, however, the texture is emphasized. A separate lighting scheme is set up for each material. For detail on glossy products, jewelry and jewelry shoot You can take a look at our approach.

Color accuracy

In the cosmetics, food, and textile industries, ensuring that product colors appear accurately on screen influences purchasing decisions and reduces return rates. Color management is planned in conjunction with selecting a design that does not overwhelm the product.

Background and texture

Whether it’s colored cardboard, wood, marble, fabric, or wall texture, the background should not draw more attention than the product itself. The right background reinforces the product’s message and establishes a brand-specific language.

Photo + Video Compatibility

When setting up a shoot, both still shots and motion are taken into account. The same set creates a consistent visual language for the website’s main image, marketplace images, Reels, and campaign videos.

Which shot, which need

Still life, lifestyle, and white background: when to use which

Type of shotWhat for?Typical channelVideo response
White background / cutoutNeutral main image, variation, catalogMarketplace main image, web product page360° rotation, short product demo

Model LifestyleTo show the product in actual useAds, Reels, campaigns, e-commerce storefrontHow-to video, vertical Reels (9:16)

In most projects, these three are not mutually exclusive; while the marketplace main image is designed on a white background, content featuring props and models for the website and social media is planned within the same brief. For platform dimensions, E-commerce Photo Dimensions in its guide, regarding marketplace standards Trendyol and Amazon Product Photoshoot You can check out the page.

Industry-specific application

In which product categories do stylized photo shoots stand out?

The approach varies by industry: in cosmetics and perfume, surface shine and color accuracy take center stage; in jewelry, it’s about reflection control and detail; in home textiles, texture and warmth are key; and in food, freshness and presentation are paramount. Some of the decorative and still-life projects we’ve worked on include Marapon and Holzauge (home textiles and design objects), Cyrene, L’axe, and Welldermo (cosmetics), By Eda Dogan and BIG SUGAR / Zehrai (jewelry), Tuborg and Olea Familya Zeytin (food and beverage still life), and Cio and Soley (decorative lifestyle and motion graphics).

Price and Process

What factors determine the quote, and how do you ship the product?

Quotes for product photo shoots with set design are prepared based on the number of products, the number of sets, the type of shoot (still life, lifestyle, with models), prop and set design requirements, video requests, and the level of retouching. Instead of providing a starting price, we first clarify the product category and intended distribution channel; this ensures the budget is tailored to your actual needs.

Brands outside Istanbul and across Europe ship their products to our Istanbul studio; the selection, revision, and delivery processes are handled remotely. With our service coverage in Berlin and across Europe, we offer European brands a more accessible production model. The delivery timeline is planned based on the number of products, the type of shoot, and the scope of retouching; for standard e-commerce shoots, the selection and delivery schedule is finalized at the start of the project and typically takes 3–10 business days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions About Styled Product Photography

What factors determine the price of a product photo shoot with props?

Pricing is determined based on the number of products, the number of sets, the type of shoot (still life, lifestyle, with models), prop and set design requirements, video requests, and the level of retouching. Rather than providing a starting price, we first clarify your product category and intended distribution channel, and then prepare a quote accordingly.

Do you shoot both staged photos and videos on the same set?

Yes. We set up the staged scene from the start with motion in mind; we use the same setup to produce both high-resolution still life photos and product videos. This ensures consistency in color, texture, and composition between the photos and videos, and eliminates the need for separate shooting days and separate production teams.

Are your images real, or are they generated by artificial intelligence?

It’s all real. None of the decor, sets, backgrounds, or lighting on this page was generated by artificial intelligence. Our art director sources decor specifically for your brand and physically selects the background and floor textures and colors; our photographer and videographer set up lighting designs tailored to the product on set. This ensures that the product you see on screen is exactly the same as the one that comes out of the box. Synthetic visuals do not accurately represent the product; that’s why we prefer to work on a real set.

How many sets can you set up at the same time?

Our creative team, camera-lens systems, and studio lighting are capable of running three separate production lines in parallel on the same day: set-based video, set-based photography, and white-background product photography all take place simultaneously. This ensures a consistent visual style across teams and allows us to complete in a single day what other companies take 2–3 days to finish.

What is the difference between still life, lifestyle, and staged concept photography?

Still life presents the product within a composition using props and accessories. Lifestyle shows the product in a real-life usage scenario. A stylized concept shoot, on the other hand, is structured around a specific theme or story. In most projects, these three approaches complement each other and can be planned within the same brief.

Can I ship my products via courier, or do I need to bring them in for pickup?

You don’t need to come in person. Brands outside Istanbul and across Europe ship their products to our Istanbul studio; the selection, revision, and delivery processes are handled remotely. With our service area covering Berlin and Europe, we offer an accessible production model to brands across Europe.

Who provides the sets and props?

We plan and provide the decor, props, and set design. Meryem Aydın Yıldırım handles the art direction and product presentation for product and campaign shoots. If you’d like to use a prop or raw material specific to your brand, we’ll incorporate that into the design as well.

How long is the delivery time?

The delivery timeline is planned based on the number of products, the type of shoot, and the scope of retouching. For standard e-commerce shoots, the selection and delivery schedule is finalized at the start of the project and typically ranges from 3 to 10 business days. For campaign and video productions, the schedule is determined based on the scope of the project.

Are stylized product photos suitable for online marketplaces (Trendyol, Amazon)?

Marketplace main images typically require a white background; decorated and lifestyle images, on the other hand, are used for web showcases, social media, and campaigns. By planning white-background, cutout, decorated, and model-based images together within the same brief, we produce the right set of visuals for each channel.
