Please send us the SKU number, product category, distribution channels, and a sample image. Let’s work together to determine the appropriate type of shoot and the scope of the proposal.

Real product, real set: We photographed the products you see on this page in physical sets. We created the sets and surfaces using real materials and set up the lighting in the studio. None of the images were generated using artificial intelligence. We preserved the products’ true shape, color, and texture.

“They photographed the product images for our e-commerce company with great care, using professional, high-quality photographers. We didn’t even need to edit the photos—they were perfectly composed right from the start. We were very satisfied with this service, which was the first time we’d outsourced this work. Some brands only need a main image for the marketplace. For some projects, we combine a styled photo, a model, and a video all within the same campaign production. The Impact of Product Photos on Sales The guide explains which visual is used at which decision-making stage. The following types of shots will help you choose the right scope.

Can photos, videos, and a white background be shot on the same day?

Yes. If the project scope allows, we conduct product shoots—including staged photography, staged video, and white-background product shots—at our Istanbul studio using three separate teams and three parallel sets. We complete a scope that other productions might spread over 2–3 days in just one day, while maintaining a consistent color palette and framing style.

Types of shots

What type of shoot is right for your product?

Depending on your needs, we use the six main production types either separately or within the same project: white background and cutout, product photos with decor, product usage shots with models, marketplace sets, campaign videos, and product videos. We include the required deliverables for Amazon, Trendyol, Hepsiburada, Etsy, Reels, TikTok, and YouTube in the same shoot brief.

Real product, physical set, and controlled lighting: Meryem Aydın is planning the product presentation; she is physically setting up the backdrop, floor, and props. Our video team, led by Burak Bulut Yıldırım, is setting up the lighting on set according to whether the surface is glossy, matte, glass, or metal. In this collection, we used real products, physical props, sets, and surfaces. None of the images were generated using artificial intelligence. The product you see on screen is based on the actual shape, color, and texture of the product as it comes out of the box.

Actual production

Are the product photos with props really shot on set?

Yes. At LUX Production, we prepare staged shoots at our Istanbul studio in three physical steps: we select objects and surfaces that suit the product, set up the actual set, and shape the lighting according to the product. Every image on this page was shot using real products, physical props, sets, and surfaces. We set up the lighting in the studio; we did not generate any images using artificial intelligence.

Synthetic images are also used in the market under the heading of “stylized product photography.” These images can alter the texture of the packaging, the product’s actual proportions, and color accuracy. We physically bring every product into the studio and set up the shoot using real materials.

Meryem Aydın selects props that complement the brand; she sets up the background, floor, color, and texture on set. Together with Burak Bulut Yıldırım, our video team sets up separate lighting arrangements that control reflections on glossy glass and metal while preserving the texture on matte surfaces.

The product you see on the screen is based on the actual shape, color, and texture of the product as it comes out of the box.

3 parallel production lines

How do three production lines operate on the same day?

If the project is suitable, our three teams work on three separate tracks on the same day: product photography against a white background, staged photography, and staged or model-based video. We complete in a single day what other production teams might spread out over 2–3 days, while maintaining a consistent color palette and product presentation style across all photos, videos, and white-background shots.

Line 1White background and catalog shot

We plan the SKU workflow and product angles; we shoot against a pure white background, with controlled lighting and for cutouts.

Line 2Product photo with props

We set up the physical surface, props, and color palette; we adjust the flash lighting according to the product.

Line 3Video with decorations or special effects

We plan the continuous lighting, the product’s path of movement, and the model’s positioning; we set up the video set for either vertical or horizontal shots.

We're setting up the video rig from scratch for the shot: Depending on the project’s needs, we use a motorized sliding system, a turntable, macro or probe lens changes, focus adjustments, and stop motion. A static set designed for still photography may prove insufficient once movement begins. We incorporate continuous lighting and the path of movement into the initial set plan, and set up the same set so that it appears natural in both 9:16 and 16:9 video formats.

Sectoral scope

Which industries do we work with for product photography?

Since 2005, we have been photographing cosmetics, home textiles, fashion, jewelry, food, medical, and industrial products. Because the surface, scale, usage, and delivery channel vary across each category, we tailor the lighting setup, set, model, and retouching plan to each specific product.

Scope of the Proposal

How are prices for professional product photography determined?

We prepare product photography proposals based on 10 key variables: number of SKUs and variations, surface, angle, shoot type, set, model, styling, usage rights, video, and post-production. We budget each type of shoot based on its specific production scope; white-background shoots and model-based campaigns involve different line items.

Delivery channels

On which platforms are product images used?

For a single production, we can prepare different aspect ratios and files for six channel groups: marketplace, brand store, digital advertising, social media, catalog, and trade show/launch. We plan the framing and crop margins separately for each channel in the shot list.

Amazon and marketplaces

Product page images

Main images designed with resolution, framing, and licensing scope in mind for a wide range of uses.

Technical production

How do you photograph shiny, transparent, and small items?

We control reflections caused by diffusion on glass, metal, and glossy packaging. For small products, we use macro photography and focus stacking when necessary. We control color for color-critical products using computer-assisted photography and reference color management. For the web, we primarily use sRGB; for print, we prepare the approved output profile.

Glare control

Glass, metal, and glossy packaging

Diffusion panels, light-blocking surfaces, and controlled light passages reveal the product’s volume and material.

Macro clarity

Small products and details

If the depth of field is insufficient, we combine different focal points into a single frame using the focus-stacking method.

Color accuracy

Screen and Print

We verify the product color using a computer-connected camera, a reference color, and the target output profile.

The difference between a white background and a cutout: For white-background photography, we photograph the product against a lit background. During the cutout process, we separate the product from the background using a path or mask. If a transparent PNG or a pure white background is required, white background and cutout area Take a look.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear Answers About Product Photography

The 16 topics we discuss most frequently regarding proposals, delivery, shoot types, product shipping, models, video, usage rights, retouching, and revisions.

How are product photography prices determined?

Pricing is determined based on the number of products and their variations, surface and dimensions, the number of angles/final shots per product, white background, decor, model, video, styling, usage rights, level of retouching, and delivery time. For a detailed quote, please provide a product list, distribution channels, sample visual direction, and target date.

When will the product photos be delivered?

Alternative photos will be shared in low resolution the next day for selection. The final delivery of selected images is scheduled based on the number of products, type of shoot, retouching, and video scope; standard e-commerce shoots can typically be completed within 3–10 business days. The exact schedule is determined in writing before the project begins.

What is the difference between a white background and a cutout?

In white-background photography, the product is photographed against an illuminated white or neutral background; shadows and the background are controlled on set. In a cutout, the product is separated from the background using a path or mask after the shoot. If a transparent PNG or a pure white background is required, both processes can be planned together within the same project.

Are the images formatted to be compatible with Amazon, Trendyol, and Etsy?

Yes. The main image, close-ups, scale shots, usage shots, and lifestyle shots are prepared in accordance with the target platform’s technical and content guidelines as of the project date. Since platform requirements may change, dimensions, aspect ratios, backgrounds, file types, and size limits are double-checked when creating the shot list, and final deliverables are organized accordingly.

Are the images generated by artificial intelligence?

No. None of the products, props, sets, surfaces, or lighting in the images on this page or in the product images we deliver to our customers are generated using artificial intelligence. The photos are taken using real products, physical sets, real models, and controlled lighting. This ensures that the shape of the packaging, the product’s color and texture, and the actual proportions on the model are preserved.

Can multiple types of shoots be done on the same day?

Yes. If the number of products, studio space, and crew schedule allow, white-background photos, staged photos, and product videos can be shot simultaneously on three parallel sets on the same day. Which sets will be set up together, the product workflow, and daily capacity are determined during the proposal phase; a consistent color scheme and product presentation standard are maintained for both photos and videos.

Is a product video being filmed along with the photos?

Yes. Vertical product videos, horizontal product videos, rotating product videos, and interactive 360-degree view photo shoots can all be planned as part of the same production. The script, duration, aspect ratios (9:16, 1:1, and 16:9), editing, audio, subtitles, and the number of versions to be delivered are included in the written plan prior to filming.

How many angles or photos are taken of a product?

The number varies depending on the intended use. For a marketplace, a main image, close-up shots, scale shots, and usage shots may be required; for a website, catalog, or campaign, the variety of shots may increase. The number of angles to be shot per product, the number of alternatives, and the number of final files to be delivered are clearly specified in the shoot list and the proposal.

Is the model included in the product photo shoot?

Unless otherwise specified in the client’s shoot brief, LUX Production handles model selection. The model or hand model, hair and makeup, styling, and usage rights are separate variables in the proposal. The country of use, media platform, duration, scope of advertising, and the model’s appearance are specified in the proposal and contract prior to the shoot.

How do you photograph shiny and reflective products?

For glass, metal, jewelry, and glossy packaging, diffusion surfaces, light-blocking flags, and, when necessary, multiple masks are used. The goal is not to eliminate reflections entirely, but rather to create transitions that accurately convey the product’s shape and material. For small products, if the depth of field is insufficient, focus stacking is used to combine different points of focus into a single frame.

Do the colors appear accurately on screen and in print?

Shooting is conducted using a color-managed workflow, and a reference color is used when necessary. An sRGB profile is typically prepared for the web and marketplaces, while an approved output profile is created for print or campaigns. The final appearance also depends on the display, browser, paper, and print profile used; the target medium is determined during the briefing phase.

How do I get the products to the studio?

Products can be delivered to the Istanbul studio in person or via shipping. For in-person delivery, directions using Levent Metro and Kanyon as landmarks will be provided. The shipping list, packaging, fragility, receipt, post-shoot returns, and, if necessary, insurance terms are clarified in writing prior to the shoot; for valuable products, the delivery method is planned separately.

What file formats do you accept?

Files can be prepared as JPEG, PNG, and, when necessary, TIFF or PSD, depending on the project’s requirements. Pixel dimensions, aspect ratio, color profile, transparent background, file size, and naming convention are determined prior to shooting based on the specific platform—whether it’s a marketplace, website, digital ad, social media, or print medium.

Do you work outside Istanbul or in Europe?

Yes. Products from various cities in Turkey and from Europe can be shipped to the Istanbul studio; the brief, selection, revisions, and delivery are handled remotely. If on-site shooting is required in Berlin or elsewhere in Europe, the project is planned using a local studio, crew, or location as needed. Product safety, shipping, and return procedures are specified in writing prior to the shoot.

How do you decide whether you need a marketplace image or a campaign photo?

If the primary need is for a product listing and sales page, the marketplace support package with a white background takes priority. If the goal is a brand launch, advertising, or social media, stylized product photos, product shots on a model, video, and campaign production are added. Many brands can combine these two needs into a single shoot summary and a shared shoot plan.

How does the editing and revision process work?

Product cleanup, color correction, contouring, background adjustments, clipping, and the retouching specified in the brief are applied to the selected frames. Corrections to the final files related to color, cleanup, and format are addressed within the scope of the project; requests for new compositions, different sets, additional angles, or manipulations outside the scope are planned separately. The revision process is clearly defined in writing during the proposal phase.
